access: technology is an assistive technology consultancy service, based in Ripon, North Yorkshire. We support children and adults with disabilities to become more independent through the use of technology, intervention and training.
We are recruiting for an Assistive Technology Assistant, starting in April 2022 to provide ongoing support for our clients in their homes and schools and to support our Consultant team in the creation and implementation of high-quality resources.

Duties & Responsibilities
As an Assistive Technology Assistant at access: technology you will be required to:
- Work 35 hours per week.
- Have access to your own vehicle and travel extensively to meet the requirements of our client caseload.
- Work from our Newby Hall office in Ripon as a base.
- Support our Consultants with their caseloads by:
- Delivering high quality intervention to clients in their use of AT solutions at home and at school
- Producing Technology Care Plans for clients, ensuring appropriate and safe use of equipment
- Delivering Digital Wellbeing (esafety) intervention with individuals and small groups
- Providing troubleshooting support, remotely or face to face
- Compiling short formal written reports
- Creating high quality resources using a range of software titles
- Engaging in project based research and development
- Assisting with developing and delivering training
- Producing equipment crib sheets and ‘How to’ guides for clients and their support team

- Has experience of working in an educational setting
- Has experience of delivering direct intervention sessions
- Has experience of working with children or adults with learning difficulties or disabilities
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Is caring and confident – a real ‘people person’
- Has ability to self organise
- Is able to meet the criteria to obtain enhanced DBS
- Has a clean driving licence and their own vehicle
