Recruitment privacy notice
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This notice explains how access: technology (ACCESS TECHNOLOGY NORTH LTD, company number 10624121, 18 Newby Stables, Ripon, HG4 5AE) uses your data when you apply for a job with us. We are the controller. Contact us at careers@accesstechnology.co.uk.
What we use and why
We use your application, our emails with you, any stage two work and interview notes to consider you for the role. If we offer you a job, we also get references, right to work documents and a DBS check from your referees and the Disclosure and Barring Service. We rely on taking steps towards a possible contract and our legitimate interest in recruiting (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (f)), legal obligation for right to work checks and adjustments (Article 6(1)(c)), and employment law for any health or criminal record information (Article 9(2)(b), DPA 2018 Schedule 1 paragraph 1). We need a CV and covering letter to consider an application.
If you apply through Indeed, Indeed sends us a notice with your details. We don't use these and delete them within 30 days.
How we decide
Each application first gets an automated check against the essential requirements in the advert, which you can ask a person to review by replying to our email. If an application doesn't meet them, it may be turned down without a person involved.
Sharing and keeping your data
Our recruitment staff see your data, and our service providers, such as email, storage and AI providers, process it for us, sometimes outside the UK under approved safeguards. If you're unsuccessful, we delete it 6 months after the decision. If you join us, it moves to your staff file.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to or move your data by emailing careers@accesstechnology.co.uk, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
